Fiction by Sibella Giorello

Sibella Giorello's unique life path led her to create Raleigh Harmon, the heroine of her award-winning novels. Giorello began life in Alaska, a state which harbors in its citizens the passion for exploration, understanding, and independence. Giorello took those characteristics with her when she left the state and, eventually, arrived at Mount Holyoke College where she majored in geology.

Uncertain what a degree in rocks might do for her post-college but blessed with the ability to write well, Giorello entered the world of journalism. Her writing caught the attention of numerous individuals and received various accolades and awards, including a two nominations for the coveted Pulitzer Prize.

Yet the world of newspaper journalism didn't afford Giorello the ability to incorporate her love of geology. So, in 2007, Giorello introduced us to Raleigh Harmon - fictional forensic geologist for the FBI and heroine of Giorello's novels - inThe Stones Cry Out (Baker/Revell). Once again, experts caught notice of Giorello's writing and heaped words of praise.

In 2009, Giorello released her sophomore novel, The Rivers Run Dry, with Thomas Nelson Publishers. Publishers Weekly hailed, "With great attention to detail, gritty descriptions and fast-paced action, Giorello's tale of suspense is a sure bet."

Her third novel, The Clouds Roll Away, is due out in 2010. She lives in Washington State with her husband and sons.

Forensic geologist Raleigh Harmon discovers that the Pacific Northwest is filled with beauty, danger, and mystery. When Raleigh Harmon, geologist and special agent for the FBI, is suddenly transferred from the Richmond field office to Seattle, she finds herself in strange territory.
